New Synagogue Campus

Temple B’nai Israel is a newly constructed synagogue campus designed to serve as a permanent spiritual and community home for the Easton Jewish community. Conceived as a ground-up project, the architecture responds directly to its regional context while expressing a contemporary interpretation of synagogue design rooted in tradition, clarity, and longevity.

The campus is organized to support worship, education, and communal life within a cohesive architectural framework. The sanctuary serves as the focal point, defined by proportion, daylight, and carefully crafted materials that establish a sense of reverence and gathering without excess. Spatial relationships between the sanctuary, social spaces, and educational areas were intentionally planned to support both daily use and large congregational events.

Exterior architecture reflects sensitivity to the Eastern Shore setting through scale, massing, and material selection, allowing the building to feel grounded within its environment while maintaining a distinct civic presence. Entry sequences, circulation paths, and site planning were carefully choreographed to create a welcoming approach and intuitive movement throughout the campus.

This project represents a comprehensive architectural solution—one that brings together program, place, and identity into a unified synagogue campus designed to support generations of worship, learning, and community connection.
